Damian T. Dziwis was born 1986 in Chorzów (Poland). In 1988 he resettled to Düsseldorf (Germany) with his family.

As a young child his interest in music and electronics started to grow – at the age of eight he began programming autodidactically and started his instrumental education at the Clara Schumann Music School in Düsseldorf.

In 2006 he started to study Engineering in Media Technology at the University for Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf.
From 2008 till 2010 he continued his musical education at the Instrumental Composition class of David P. Graham followed by Electronic Composition under Christian Banasik.
Parallel Damian was studying music theory under Hans Peter Reutter, algorithmic music under Julian Rohrhuber and Hans W. Koch, as a visiting student at the Robert Schumann University and the IMM in Düsseldorf.
In 2015 he started studies in the master composition class for electronic composition under Michael Beil at the HfMT Cologne with courses in music programming under Chikashi Miyama –  expanded with classes under Marko Ciciliani and Johannes Kreidler at the Darmstadt summer courses. In 2019 Damian was Artist in Resident at ZKM (Center for Art and Mediatechnology) in Karlsruhe.

In addition he started a master in practical computer science at the Fern-University Hagen in 2016.
From 2017 he continued his studies as a PhD student in the field of spatial audio and holophonics at the TH Cologne and TU Berlin.

Beside this, he published several applications for art expression at conferences like the ICMI – „innovative computer-based musical interfaces“, and TEI – „tangible, embedded, and embodied interaction“.

Damian’s compositions were played at various concerts and festivals, for example the „Music Tech Fest“ in Stockholm, the „CTM Festival“ in Berlin, „ACHT BRÜCKEN“ festival in Cologne, „inSonic“ festival at ZKM Karlsruhe, „die digitale“ in Düsseldorf“, the „Beethoven Fest“ in Bonn, the „60×60“ in Chicago and the „The Wrong“ – New digital arts biennale.
